January 2015

This is my final post of the day.  With this post, it makes six for the day. I wanted to get caught up with the cards that I made over the years and I know there's more that I didn't take pictures of but this feels like an accomplishment to get up-to-date.

These are all birthday cards with the exception of a wedding card.  January is a busy month for birthdays in my life, including my own.

This card what for M's dad.  I still struggle with masculine cards.

This one was for my Grandpa's 80th birthday.

This one was for Tanya Z's birthday.

This one was for my cousin Ryan's wedding.  Ryan, a girl, married her long-time boyfriend Paul in Mexico on January 29th.

Finally, this is M's birthday card.  Our birthdays are 16 days apart.

September 2014

With an abundance of vegetables in their garden, M's parents sent home tomatoes, cucumbers and onions with M on Labor Day weekend for me.  To show my appreciation, I made them this card.

June 2014

For my sister's birthday, I made her a little card in the shape of a birthday present.

I made my nephew a baseball card, which included tickets to a Twins game.

One of my dearest friends, Sara got married last June.  I was out of her town for her wedding but I made her a card which was from all of us at work.

May 2014

I made two cards in May 2014 for Mother's Day.  One was for my mom and the other for M's mom.

Both of these cards were smaller than normal greeting card size.

This card was for my mom.

This was M's mom's card.

I also stamped and colored this bag which was bag in which one of my mom's Mother's Day gifts was in.

I made her a photo transfer onto wood and painted gray.  This scene is at Lichen Lake, a place my dad was fond of.

I also made this card which I ended up giving to my friend Jill for her birthday in July.

Etsy Shop

I once dared greatly, in July 2011 with the opening an Etsy shop and featuring some of the cards I've made.  These are the ones that I created that haven't already been featured on this site.  I didn't sell a single card.

June 2011 Cards

The following cards were all made in June 2011 for multiple occasions.

The first two are for Father's Day with the top one for my dad and the second one for M's dad.

The birthday card was for my nephew, Keith.  I must have been rushed this day.  He's almost 12 now!

The final card is for Asher.  Asher is the son of our good friends, Chris and Tanya.  He was born June 8th and we delivered this card to them in the hospital.  This one took a while as I was still using my Cuttlebug to cut everything out. Asher will be four in June.

A Very Long Hiatus

The last time I posted here was almost three years ago.  I haven't stopped making cards though, even though I do go in phases.

I try to take photos of the cards I make before I give them or send them away so I'm going to try and make up for lost time and post some, maybe all of them here going forward.

I recently have had another surge of craftiness come over me so I have inspiration to continue to create through this winter at least.

I've just purchased some new stamps and markers and I'm waiting for them to arrive but am very excited to use some new stuff and post my cards again.

New Design

As of my New Year's resolutions, I wanted to take a little bit of time and change my blog.  I haven't really done much to this blog in ways of making it pretty to look at.  As of today, it's a new layout and I'm happy with it.

Yay!

I just recently started doing challenges at 365 Cards when I can find the time and last week I was pleasantly surprised when I was announced as a Spotlight Designer.  You can submit a card every day for each challenge but one person is chosen as the day's best card.  Mine was chosen for Day 348- So Comical.  I'm proudly featuring my Spotlight Designer badge on the side of my blog!

Check out the Designers for the week!

Happy Birthday Kristi

I went out to brunch today with my friend Kristi and a group of our friends for her birthday which was last week.  I had all week to make her a card but I was so busy that I ended up whipping this one up in about 5 minutes this morning.

Less Is More Challenge Week 55- Theme

This week's challenge as Less Is More is a theme.  The theme is to use punches or die cuts.  I ended up using both on my card, which is so simple, it's boring!  There are so many fantastic submissions already this week.  You all do great work!

Valentine's Day

Tomorrow night, I will be going out with two special people...my boyfriend and my grandpa.  I made an extra special card for my grandpa and another for my boyfriend Michael.  I struggled with the one for Michael.  Sometimes it's harder to make cards for people that you love so much.

365 Cards Challenge- Day 343- Mismatched

Today's challenge for 365 Cards is using two papers that you wouldn't normally use together.  I'm not sure if this looks good but it's definitely two papers I wouldn't use together. :)  It's also a masculine card, which I'm not used to making.

365 Cards Challenge- Day 348- So Comical

I had no idea what to do for 365 Cards challenge when I first sat down and started crafting but then it came to me.  I thought it would be funny to use an image of a cherub and then use "What's Up?" since the cherub is actually looking up and because it's funny to picture a cherub even talking, let alone saying "What's Up?"  Hope that is comical enough for you!

Less Is More Challenge Week 54

This week's LIM challenge is a one layer card using stripes.  I used a hearts in the colors of rainbows to create stripes.

365 Cards Challenge- Day 342- Super Sketchy Sunday

Today's challenge at 365 Cards is a sketch as it always is on Sundays.  I knew I wanted to do something with a butterfly and flower and after a little bit of playing around, this is what I came up with.

365 Cards Challenge- Day 341- Doodle A Do

Yesterday's challenge at 365 Cards was Doodle A Do.  I took the challenge literally and created a notebook and doodled all different sorts of things that I used to do when I was in school, like make stars, boxes, smiley faces, stick people and even who I loved at the time.  This time I chose my real boyfriend, Michael.  :)

Less Is More is officially done with their first year of card challenges and it's time roll the week ahead to number 53.  This week's challenge is color, specially, Aqua.  My card is almost too plain but remember, Less is More.

365 Cards Challenge- Day 340- Abstract Art

I'm participating in my second challenge this week for 365 Cards and today's challenge is Abstract Art.  I pulled out some funky papers and I just went with whatever came to mind.  I originally planned on completely black and white but thought some yellow would add a little pop to it.

Happy Birthday

I made up two birthday cards tonight.  One for a coworker and one that I'll be mailing to a good friend tomorrow.  For as little time as I spent on them, I like the way they both turned out.
